The Change of Seasons Can Change the Condition of Your Scalp

Are you aware that changes in temperature, humidity, the environment will affect your scalp condition? Also, you may see greater itchiness, and other hair/scalp issues during the change of seasons. Itchiness, redness, discomfort – issues nobody wants to deal with! Our Oasis Master Stylists have pulled together the following tips to help your dry scalp! Some are practical changes, and others require the use of specialized products and natural ingredients to help soothe the itchiness.

The first thing you can do is change your hair care products and routine. Over-washing and using products full of chemicals can wreak havoc on your hair and scalp, causing limp locks, flakiness, or even dandruff. Switching to natural shampoos like Alurum Moisturizing Hair Wash will help bring the moisture back. In addition, using a quality natural conditioner like Alurum Moisturizing MasqueTreatment with exclusive Auxitricogenetic Action that has vitalizing and nourishing effects on the roots of the hair and shaft.

By regularly brushing your hair you will help to spread natural oils around your hair and scalp to keep everything healthy. A lack of brushing can lead to a decrease in the shedding of old skin cells, which can cause extra dryness.

Who doesn’t love a nice head massage! Massaging your scalp stimulates your hair follicles and eases a dry, itchy scalp. Combine the soothing nature of a scalp massage with a bit of pampering, courtesy peppermint oil. Peppermint oil is effective at reducing dandruff and soothing the scalp, calming down the itch. Try diluting it with another oil, such as olive oil, and massaging it into the scalp before shampooing.

Drink plenty of water. Using natural ingredients and quality products will help moisturize and rehydrate your scalp and locks, and drinking plenty of water will help support all that good work. A general rule of thumb, half of your body weight in ounces per day. The key is to sip throughout the day and maintain hydration. Also good for the brain and internal systems!
